Fall Activities You Can Still Do During A Pandemic

We’re all probably thinking the same thing — What can I do with my nanny kids that celebrates the fall season while also following COVID-19 guidelines? The simplest answer is: anything outside! Here are some suggestions in the Denver Metro area that will hopefully inspire some ideas in your own hometown.

Keep in mind, most outings will require everyone wear a face mask following your state’s COVID-19 regulations. It is recommended to call locations or visit their websites for opening guidelines and expectations before showing up.

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkin patches are everywhere this time of year! Many local farms have pumpkins in fields for the picking. Grab a pumpkin and take some pictures! Some locations even offer treats.

Have Some Fun at a Harvest Festival

Along with a pumpkin patch, there are several farms that offer additional attractions, like rides, games, corn mazes and more.

See the Changing Leaves

If you go into the mountains in the months of September and October, you will see the beautiful red and gold changing leaves. But the best way to see the fall leaves is to follow the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway, a 55 mile drive through much of Colorado’s most amazing landscapes. If you’re looking for something less time-consuming, consider Boulder’s list of best places to see fall colors.

Attend a Halloween-Specific Event

While we love pumpkins and changing leaves in the fall, we can’t forget about the costumes and candy! If you’re interested in dressing up (yourself or the kids), attend one (or all) of these halloween events with your nanny kids around Denver.

I hope you can still enjoy this beautiful fall season, even with a face mask and social distancing guidelines!
